The Orchid\u00e9e program at Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al <\/a>is a group psychotherapy program for students experiencing stress or anxiety related to their integration or adaptation to higher education. The goal is to intervene so that these difficulties, whether related to family, romantic, social, or institutional relationships, do not trigger a spiral of perfectionism and overachievement. It is hoped that the program will help individuals rebuild themselves, develop their sense of competence, and regain balance in their new environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program consists of seven sessions spread over two months. An initial one-on-one meeting is held to assess the student’s emotional maturity and identify the reason for seeking counseling. This step is essential for forming groups of three or four people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is followed by five two-hour group psychotherapy sessions in a safe environment where everyone can share their experiences, better understand their emotions, and develop strategies to feel better. A final individual session is offered to conclude the process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
