His initiative stems from a desire to take concrete action against racism and discrimination against aboriginal peoples, and helps to break down barriers between the indigenous and non-indigenous worlds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On its website, Mikana presents its different fields of action:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Partnerships and collaborations: support for environments wishing to implement significant changes (e.g. Coll\u00e8ge Ahuntsic&#8217;s autochtonization process);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Awareness-raising activities and tools: workshops, conferences, training courses, tool development;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mikana.ca\/ressources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resource bank<\/a><strong>:<\/strong> video clips on decolonization, glossary, terminology guide, podcasts, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mikana was also behind the creation of <a href=\"https:\/\/mikana.ca\/en\/decolonial-toolbox-educational-pathway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Decolonial toolbox<\/a> offering an <em>Educational Pathway<\/em> to learn about the historical and contemporary realities of First Peoples and their expertise.
