Depending on the case and the specifics of the desired model, different names are used to designate this person: outreach worker, corridor worker, street worker. These people are present in the common spaces frequented by students and are available in real time to respond to their support needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some higher education establishments that have implemented this type of practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=677346956897005\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Universit\u00e9 Laval<\/a>, outreach workers provide front-line service, support and referrals to the appropriate resources as needed. The meetings are confidential, free of charge and offered face-to-face on campus or by videoconference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ici.radio-canada.ca\/nouvelle\/1910696\/sante-mentale-travailleuse-sociale-corridor-cegep-pocatiere-aide-psychologique\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">C\u00e9gep de La &nbsp;Pocati\u00e8re<\/a> proposes a model where a corridor worker goes directly to meet students by criss-crossing the CEGEP&#8217;s common areas to assess their needs, support them and direct them to the appropriate resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At Coll\u00e8ge Ahunstic, an <a href=\"https:\/\/stationsme.ca\/en\/staff-members\/tools-for-staff-members\/facilitateur-a-la-vie-etudiante-autochtone\/\">Indigenous Student Life Facilitator<\/a> position has been created to welcome and support First Peoples students in their success and needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le C\u00e9gep de Sainte-Foy a pour sa part des travailleur.ses de rue qui ont la particularit\u00e9 de ne pas avoir de bureau d\u00e9di\u00e9 et qui, au besoin, accompagnent les \u00e9tudiant.es \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur de l\u2019\u00e9tablissement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the \u00c9cole de technologie sup\u00e9rieure, an outreach worker is available on campus to provide rapid psychosocial assistance through direct contact, without having to fill out a form.
