Nightline France<\/a> is an initiative by and for students aimed at improving individual and collective mental health in educational environments. Their many actions contribute to the democratization and destigmatization of mental health. These include: a helpline, a survival kit, a survey on student mental health, and a peer support service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nightline: a student-run night listening service<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Nightline<\/a> helplines are available to students free of charge in several regions of France. The service is independent, and many institutions offer it to their student populations. The telephone and chat services are available every evening from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with the exception of summer vacations, and are staffed by students trained in active listening and caring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fisrt aid kit: a toolkit for students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This toolkit<\/a> is designed to help young people take care of themselves, pay attention to their mental health and learn how to support their loved ones in need. By appealing to their emotions, thoughts and behaviours, the life kit can help students achieve a sense of well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Mental Health in Europe: a groundbreaking report from Nightline Europe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nightline a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une vaste \u00e9tude<\/a> bas\u00e9e sur 15 000 appels et\/ou tchats enregistr\u00e9s dans les neuf mois de l\u2019ann\u00e9e universitaire 2023-2024 \u00e0 travers les 29 Nightlines membres du r\u00e9seau de cinq pays (Allemagne, Autriche, France, Irlande, et Royaume-Uni). Les r\u00e9sultats r\u00e9v\u00e8lent notamment que 40% des \u00e9tudiant.es dans l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne rencontrent des difficult\u00e9s li\u00e9es \u00e0 leur bien-\u00eatre ou \u00e0 leur sant\u00e9 mentale et qu\u2019un \u00e9tudiant.e sur cinq serait concern\u00e9.e par un trouble de sant\u00e9 mentale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Student Sentinels project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nightline has established a program in which students serve as support peers within their student communities to identify and refer peers in distress. The goal? To promote prevention on a daily basis within their communities. In this way, the Student Sentinels project is part of the community-based approach, which is a key strategy at Nightline for improving student mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
