Commande un Angelot is an accreditation protocol for bars and festive events to tackle sexual violence. It aims to prevent these situations and help people in difficulty. This initiative was launched in 2021 by the Collectif social propelled by the Alliance pour la santé étudiante au Québec. All staff at participating bars must be trained in the Commande un Angelo protocol and in sexual violence in order for the establishment to be accredited.
Participating establishments post an information panel in their washrooms and a sticker on their front door to highlight the measure in place in their environment. If bar customers fear for their safety or that of others, they can go to the counter and notify a member of staff by ordering an Angelot. No questions about the situation will be asked, and staff members will provide assistance according to the methods learned in training.
