As the official mental health caucus of the University of Toronto Graduate Student Union, Grad Minds promotes the well-being of graduate students through inclusive, creative, and preventive approaches. Their student leadership plays a vital role in creating inclusive and supportive environments, raising awareness about mental health, and building resilience.
Grad Minds’ initiatives include:
- Organizing events such as yoga sessions, discussion groups, and art workshops
- A mental health magazine called Elemental that features creative contributions from the student community, helping to normalize conversations about mental health and raise awareness.
- A peer support service
- A survey designed to gather feedback on mental health challenges and desired resources to guide future initiatives. The results of this survey were presented at the 2026 SME Days using the posters below.
