From 30 August to 1 September 2025, the Cégep de Saint-Jérôme literary expedition brought together 42 students on the Rouge River in the Laurentians. During three days of canoe camping, these individuals travelled about ten kilometres per day, slept in the great outdoors, and kept an expedition journal combining observations, reflections, and writing exercises. This activity combines two courses: canoe camping in physical education and literature and imagination.

Supervised by four professors, this initiative aimed to bring students closer to literature by immersing them in the territory that inspired it. The programme included readings by the fireside and creative exercises, all while being completely disconnected from screens. The experience concluded with the writing of a travelogue about 1000 to 1500 words, reflecting their literary and physical immersion in the rapids of the Laurentians.
