Since July 1, 2026, 3040 has been the national, free and confidential helpline for students in France who are experiencing emotional distress or who need help, information or support. The helpline also provides support to students facing discrimination, harassment or sexual violence.
By calling 3040, students in higher education can speak with a team of professionals, including psychologists, specialized educators and legal advisors. Depending on their needs, they receive support, information and guidance toward the resources and services best suited to their situation.
The service is available during the day, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the evening, from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., support is provided by Nightline, a free, anonymous and confidential peer-support helpline.
