The welcome and support services for students with disabilities, at Université Laval’s student support center has developed tools to support the university community in dealing with the challenges and issues faced by these students.
1- The guide “Dévoiler votre situation de handicap : Pour ou contre?” helps students make this decision, whether they are dealing with teaching staff, classmates, interns or the job market. It also facilitates the accommodation process by answering questions such as: What to say? How to say it? When to say it?
2- Online training Students with disabilities: Challenges and issues in the form of short capsules designed to raise awareness among the university community on the challenges and issues faced by these students. It provides answers to questions such as :
- Who are students with disabilities?
- What is accommodation?
The online training was presented as part of the Journées de transfert de connaissances sur la santé mentale étudiante, organized by ISMÉ in March 2024.
