Designed and implemented in Quebec, the Centre d’apprentissage santé et rétablissement (CASR) is a training center for mental health, well-being and recovery, offering free online training to all Quebecers.

Operating according to the Recovery College model, training courses  are offered in a mixed-learner context to enable exchanges, co-learning and the co-construction of knowledge. CASR puts experiential knowledge at the heart of its learning activities in an inclusive and safe space. They recognize different types of knowledge (clinical/practical, theoretical and experiential). CASR offers 3 training sessions per year.

Each course lasts 6 hours (3 x 2 hours) spread over 3 weeks. Here are some examples of available training courses.

  • Let’s talk health, let’s talk mental health
  • Depression: understanding and coping together
  • Schizophrenia without prejudice: understanding the human before the disease
  • Adopt and encourage healthy eating attitudes and behaviors
  • A look at stigmatization
