The AQPS postvention program demonstrates how an organization can respond to a suicide death in order to minimize the impact on the community. It shows how to structure and apply postvention interventions in different phases, over several months depending on the situation. The interventions outlined in the program aim, among other things, to reduce the risk of a domino effect, alleviate the suffering of those who have lost loved ones, increase the sense of safety in the community, and facilitate a return to normal operations.
This webinar also presents the postvention program. A variety of intervention strategies are offered simultaneously and in a temporal sequence to different sub-groups.
This webinar’s guest is:
- Monique Séguin, Professor in the Department of Psychoeducation and Psychology at the Université du Québec en Outaouais and researcher at Groupe McGill d’études sur le suicide (GMES).
