This ORES synthesis article presents the results of a study aimed at documenting the impact of communications between first-year students and their parents on their well-being. For this purpose, diaries filled in by 367 first-year students aged 17 to 19 at a US university were analyzed.

La période de transition aux études supérieures comporte de nombreux risques psychosociaux pour les jeunes adultes, qui peuvent vivre du stress, de l’anxiété, de la dépression ou des problèmes de consommation d’alcool ou de drogues. Les parents peuvent exercer une influence positive sur le développement de leur enfant durant cette période critique. (ORES, 2024)
