In August 2024, the Cégep de Sept-Îles held its first integration camp for new Indigenous students. It was three days of activities and sharing between Innu students, including hebertism, campfires, music and socializing. This enabled them to forge links with each other, share their culture and meet key people to ease their transition from high school to college.
The trip was complemented by an evening of sharing with international students who had arrived in Sept-Îles shortly before. They were proudly welcomed by the Innu students, in their traditional dress and to the sound of their music.
