At Cégep de Sherbrooke, the course “Favoriser sa santé psychologique durant les études” is offered to students who wish to gain a better understanding of what promotes mental health and the tools specific to their situation. It is offered as an extracurricular activity to first-year students in a variety of programs.

It comprises 5 workshops of 3 hours each, covering the following topics:

  • Course 1: Theoretical foundations, emotional intelligence and strategies for positive emotions.
  • Course 2: Thoughts, emotions and self-compassion.
  • Course 3: Personal strengths, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness.
  • Course 4 : La communication consciente, les relations et le réseau social.
  • Course 5: Gratitude and fulfillment.

At the end of the course, participants are invited to draw up an action plan to improve their mental health.
