This OSMÉES guide is a tool for higher education teaching staff. It aims to raise awareness and inspire the implementation of practices that have been proven effective in both research and practice to support student success and mental health. It is divided into three sections.

  • The first section provides an overview of the mental health issues experienced by students, highlights the influence of teaching practices on these issues, and outlines the benefits for teaching staff in implementing them.
  • The second section consists of seven fact sheets categorising teaching practices, each including concrete examples, documented benefits and suggestions for implementation.
  • The third section consists of practical supplementary tools.

This guide were presented as part of SME activities on 5 December 2025.
