The toolkit for anti-oppressive practice is divided into two parts.

Part 1: A Guide to Moving from Theory to Action aims to help staff members who support the student population on campus understand:

  • What is anti-oppressive practice
  • The link between mental health and anti-oppressive practices
  • Why Should We Be Using Anti-Oppressive Practices to Support Student Mental Health on Campus?

Tools such as a list of words to use and other resources (podcast episodes, fact sheets, etc.) are also available in this kit.

Part 2: Colonialism and mental health on campus presents the history of colonization on college and university campuses in Canada, and its role in the current structure of the institutions. The kit also aims to deepen the link between colonialism and mental health, and provides tools to initiate a dismantling of colonial structures and policies on campus.
