“Nita kikenimicinam” means “get to know us” in Anicinapemowin.
This independent training program aims to develop civic awareness by exploring various themes and current issues relating to indigenous peoples. The content is delivered by 30 different people to awaken curiosity, acquire knowledge and encourage the development of open-minded attitudes with the aim of forging links and promoting better living together.

Here are the main themes of this training course.
- Native people: presentation, terminology and distinctions
- Cultural wealth: the territory, the language, its characteristics and best practices in intercultural communication
- Inheritance: collective history, issues, policy implementation and impact, intercultural relations
- Contemporary issues: rights, treaties, self-determination and demystification
- Communities: urban, belonging, seniors and youth, mobilization
- Taking action: commissions of inquiry, calls to action, cultural security, commitment
- Portage all togheter: round table on reconciliation and decolonization
Throughout the course, interactive activities are offered for reflection and further study. Original content lasting 1h30 is also available.
