The training course L’approche sensible aux traumas is free of charge and offered by the University of Sherbrooke. It is specifically designed for professionals who work with students who are victims of sexual violence or at risk of mental health issues. Its goal is to develop basic knowledge and skills on the trauma-informed approach that can be integrated into intervention practices.
The training is offered in the form of a digital manual and lasts approximately 3 hours. Two versions of the training manual are available: one on sexual violence and one on mental health. The theoretical content is the same for both versions of the training, but the clinical vignettes and quiz questions are different. A logbook is also available to help practitioners reflect more deeply on their professional practice.
This training can also be combined with an integration activity lasting approximately 2.5 hours, the main objective of which is to create a forum for discussion on the obstacles and solutions to be considered for the adoption of trauma-sensitive practices in higher education. This is a self-contained activity for which all the necessary tools are available:
- A facilitation guide
- A promotional poster
- A participation notebook
- A presentation stand
