The Sexes, genres et orientations sexuelles : comprendre la diversité training program aims to promote the inclusion of people from diverse sexual and gender backgrounds, recognition of their realities and needs in professional interventions, and collaboration between community and public resources.
More specifically, the main objectives of this training course are to:
- Explain the main components of sexual diversity (sex, sexual orientation, gender expression and gender identity)
- Describe the main myths and prejudices about these people, their intimate relationships and their families
- Identify the main realities and issues likely to be experienced by these people
- Use tools for unbiased analysis of a situation
- Employing best practices in working with LGBTQ+ people
- Demonstrate the importance of deconstructing the myths associated with sexual and gender diversity and becoming aware of its heterocisnormative biases
This training has 2 components:
- A 1-hour asynchronous shutter available to all.
- A 3-hour synchronous component is offered to pre-formed work teams (8 to 10 people).
