The UQTR Re-Pairs Brigade is made up of trained students with the following mandate:
- Offer active listening and support to people experiencing mental health challenges;
- Identify students who are vulnerable or experiencing psychological distress and refer them to the appropriate resources;
- Develop and lead prevention and positive mental health promotion activities on the Trois-Rivières campus;
- Provide a presence at student activities and festive events (active VACS witness and harm reduction)
Three training courses are compulsory to join the Brigade:
- Sentinelles (suicide prevention – 6 hours)
- Active witness (prevention of sexual violence – 3 hours)
- Brigade-specific training (3 hours)
Brigade members present on campus or at university events wear a black jacket with the Re-Pairs logo. To reach them, you can meet with them on weekdays, in a room specifically dedicated to them, or via e-mail or their Facebook page (a place to disseminate information on mental health and promote their services and organized activities). It is also possible to approach them directly in the corridors at different times of the day.
