This study documents the impact of information and communication technologies for teaching on college students’ anxiety More specifically, it has several objectives.
- Measuring anxiety levels related to the use of information and communication technologies
- Identify conditions for using information and communication technology to reduce anxiety
- Evaluating intervention strategies
The project took place in four stages, from 2019 to 2022, at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal. The aim of the first two stages was to develop a measurement tool to assess anxiety intensity. A community of practice was set up to develop a Plan d’application des stratégies d’Intervention et d’utilisation des TICE visant la réduction de l’Anxiété (PITA), aimed at better equipping faculty and students to deal with the anxiety-inducing potential of ICTE. The final step was to implement FITP with groups of students and compare those who had participated in FITP with control groups without FITP.
Here’s a webinar presenting the interim results from the second year of the project.
