The peer helper program at the Université de Montréal is run by each of the faculties. There are several peer helper programmes within the institution, but they all operate in a similar way:
- offer face-to-face listening by peer helpers
- make it easier for students to use support resources
- set up activities to promote balanced mental health and the development of links between students
- promoting health and well-being by sharing information
A procedure has been drawn up to guide faculties in setting up a peer helper program.
