The Ensemble à distance community at TÉLUQ University is a virtual meeting place for TEAMS students. It’s a tool for mutual aid and networking, both academic and social.

Since TÉLUQ doesn’t have a campus where students can rub shoulders, the Ensemble et à distance community was born out of a desire to offer a space where the student population can break isolation and socialize, a bit like a student café where everyone is free to listen in on neighboring conversations, forge links and exchange views on their respective realities.

Students come together to socialize and ask questions about how online courses work, assessment periods and other more technical aspects. Some also take the opportunity to form in-person or virtual study groups.

To gain access to the community, TÉLUQ students must fill in a form and sign a commitment to ensure respectful exchanges in line with the platform’s ethics. Students are then added to the community and given access according to their program family.

A moderator is on hand to ensure that discussions run smoothly. Students can also be present to help newcomers, identify distress and effectively refer to psychosocial support services. These students, known as “RE-PAIRS”, undergo a short training course offered by Student Community Services to play this role.munity, and access is allocated to them according to their program family.
