The guide Post-Secondary Student Mental Health: Guide to a Systemic Approach supports institutions wishing to develop a system that supports student mental health using a systemic approach. It proposes a conceptual framework based on seven levels of intervention.
- Institutional structure: organization, planning and policy
- Environment and climate conducive to inclusion on campus
- Raising awareness of mental health
- The community’s ability to respond to students’ concerns at an early stage;
- Self-management and adaptation skills
- Accessible mental health services
- Crisis management
It also includes a tool (available in French) to support self-assessment, the development of strategic objectives and the identification of changes that can be made.
