The guide Intervention in a diversity context at college aims to equip front-line college staff to better understand intercultural relations and, above all, to respond appropriately to the needs of students from immigrant backgrounds, adults in francization programs, and the international student population.
The document is divided into three chapters:
- Historical aspects of immigration and intercultural relations
- Similarities and differences between multiculturalist logic and intercultural logic
- Issues specific to intervention in a diversity context
The book also looks at the specific context of racialised LGBTQ+ people, the anxiety linked to discrimination, mental health and cultural aspects, and finally, the practice of intercultural mediation as a means of raising awareness and resolving disputes.
