Syntone is a guided self-care mobile app developed by Université de Montreal (UdM) to support students experiencing periods of stress, anxiety, or distress during their academic career.

It is based on a self-observation approach and proven strategies to help reduce distress and promote adaptation in difficult times.

Once you have downloaded the app and completed a short questionnaire, you will receive simple, personalized advice tailored to your situation, as well as a seven-day action plan that marks the start of a four-week support program.

Each week, Syntone offers a self-monitoring approach that allows support to be adjusted according to changes in the individual’s well-being. The goal? To enable students to become aware of their emotions and reactions, monitor changes, and take action accordingly to support their mental health one week at a time.

The app can also refer users to professional services when necessary, whether to campus resources or to external services.

The application is available only to UdM students. All data collected is treated confidentially in accordance with UdeM institutional standards. Available as a progressive web application, Syntone can be installed on Android devices using the Chrome browser.
